Portuguese pulp and paper manufacturer decides for second 16-pocket cut-size line

The Portuguese pulp and paper manufacturer Portucel Soporcel Group has decided for a second 16-pocket cut-size line from E.C.H. Will and Pemco for its new paper mill in Setúbal, Portugal.

In the beginning of 2008, Portucel Soporcel Group and the Körber PaperLink companies E.C.H. Will and Pemco signed a contract for two cut-size lines for the new paper mill location. The 8-pocket cut-size line for flexible production of different products and the 16-pocket cut-size line for highest possible output are currently installed and will start production in August 2009.

The second high-output line will consist of an E.C.H. Will SLK 470 cut-size sheeter, two Pemco high-speed packaging lines, the latest in labeling and strapping technology, and two W+D-Langhammer high-speed palletizers.

“As we plan to further extend our cut-size production, we needed a reliable partner to provide the right equipment, good expertise and service for that,” says Mr. Angelo Loureiro, Project Manager at Portucel Soporcel Group. “E.C.H. Will and Pemco have proven to be not only reliable, but also efficient partners during all months of our project.”

The second 16-pocket cut-size line will be delivered in May 2010 and is scheduled to start production in October 2010.
